Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary


2412m) 32km from Almora , binsar was the summer capital of the chand king. the whole regions now under the Binsar Sanctuary . very rich in biodiversity and a center par-excellence for Himalayan views as for a holidays in uninterrupted solitude. with at least 166 identified bird species in the region, binsar is a veritable gold mine for bird watchers. or you could even go chasing after a sight of the solitary leopard that inhbite binsar. the newly inaugurated little museum at the entry to binsar is worth a visit.

At a distance of 15 km from Pithoragarh, this Sanctuary is rich and well know for its Sal , Oak and pine forest, and numerous water fall. The picturesque hill district, houses amidst its greens the Askot Sanctuary which adds more dazzle to its already splendid beauty. with magnificent view of snow-capped mountain peak, The highlights of sanctuary are snow-leopards, himalayan black bear, snow-cocks, thars bharls, monals,chirs, koklas, pheasants and chukors.
